THE ACTOR'S ENSEMBLE PRACTICE
OUR TRAINING & PERFORMANCE ETHOS
At the heart of our productions lies the pursuit of accomplishing extraordinarily demanding theatrical tasks. Each performance is built abound this central challenge, requiring an exceptionally driven, committed and skilful performer.
To meet this demands, we have developed a rigorous ensemble training system with a dual focus:
1.- Physical and Vocal Mastery
A robust physical and vocal training practice that fosters strength, flexibility, and stamina. Our performers are trained to sustain high-intensity performance through disciplined, repeatable methods that sharpen the body, voice, and concentration.
2.- Ensemble Culture On and Off the Floor
A collaborative culture that extends beyond rehearsal and performance into the daily operations and long-term development of the company. Our ensemble functions not onlt as a performing body, but as a collective of co-creators and co-managers.
Our approach draws from a fusion of Eastern and Western physical theatre methodologies, primarily the Suzuki Method for Actor Training and Meyerhold's Biomechanic Étude Studies. Through years of consistence practice and exploration, we have developed a hybrid training model of physical training that sharpens precision, rhythm, and presence—building a heightened awareness of space, timing, and ensemble responsiveness. This model not only conditions the individual performer's body but also cultivates a shared language within the ensemble, forging a deep sense of interdependence and trust that unconsciously forms a collective.

WORKSHOPS
We have developed our company training system into training programme that can be delivered either as an extended masterclass format across a week, or as a month long unit to fit in with the physical theatre training curriculum of modern training institutions.
Ongoing practice in Melbourne
At home, our work is rooted in regular practice. We offer regular weekly drop-in sessions that are open to local artists from across disciplines. These sessions support the continuous development of a rigorous, open, and inclusive performance community.
International Engagement
We regularly deliver workshops at training institutions and festivals around the world, including:
- Centro Cultural de España, El Salvador / Two-week workshop residency for local artists.
- MANAM Theatre Festival, India / One-week intensive workshop.
- University of Hyderabad, India / Month-long unit for students of the Masters of Performing Arts
- Serendipity Arts Festival, India / Masterclass for the wider artistic community.
- The National Drama School, Melbourne / Currently head teachers of movement
Our preferred touring model includes a workshop series in the host city ahead of our performances. This structure allows us to engage deeply with local communities, connect with diverse performers, foster new creative relationships, and often incorporate local artists into our shows—making each performance unique to its cultural context.
